Stuck Mojo are supposedly Century Media's top band. After listening to this I can't help but feel sorry for Century Media if that's the case. I wonder what a Stuck Mojo is supposed to be? Stuck Mojo seem to have a strange obsession with pigs. Scattered throughout the insert and on the cover are various pictures of swine, conveniently pictured from different angles. I enjoy a good strip of bacon as anyong else, but this is going too far. Something about this disc makes it unappealing to listen to. While the guitars and drums on the whole are okay, the riffs can tend to be overplayed and overly simple, making "Pigwalk" boring to listen to. The worst thing about Stuck Mojo is the singer. The lyrics are performed in a rap style, in places similar to what you would hear from Rage Against The Machine. These vocals are highly annoying and destroy whatever credibility the musicians may have otherwise attained. The rest of the bands backing vocals are better suited for this album. I must admit that I enjoyed some of the lyrics contained in Pigwalk, especially those contained in the song "Despise". In this song Alternative music is severely put down, which is something I'll go along with. However, Stuck Mojo claim to be an alternative to alternative music, where I would just lump them both in the same group. The involvement of Devin Townsend on this album may explain a lot (that bald, emaciated, singer from VAI albums). He was in on the production and added samples. In the albums thanks column Stuck Mojo's "lyrical expressionist" Bonz states how inferior their previous album was. Well, now Stuck Mojo have two inferior albums.
