Hello
I read your editorial on Christian Heavy awhile back. It was actualy
what turned me on to Christian Heavy metal! I don`t think its accurate
to portray Christian heavy metal as propogantanistic because all music
is conveying messages and Ideas from the writers persepctive and we do
not live in a bubble. I think some of the best metal albums have come
from the Christian scene namley Frank`s Enemys Neoblasphemies, Crimson
Thorns Unearthed and Dissection, Jesus Freaks self titled album and
Erases Mental overload.

I havn`t felt the zine is quite as whats the word, urbane maybe? as it
was before the old editor left. I find the reviews are becomming more
simplistic and I miss the old obscure references that the reviews used
to seem to have.

One thing that is bothering me is I have recently heard some sound files
from an Australian band called "Damaged" They sound to be one of the
most intense bands ever but I can find virtualy nothing about them on
the net or out side the one websight "Extreme underground" Would you
consider reviewing some of their material?

For the most part, Vlad hit things right on the head with his review of
the new Iron Maiden album, Virtual XI. Musically this is a fine album,
at times reliving the past glory days of classics such as Powerslave and
Seventh Son of the Seventh Son. Unfortunately, Blaze Bayley isn't half
the vocalist Bruce Dickinson was and still is, and is nothing more than
a cheap fill-in for one of metal's great vocalists. In fact,
Dickinson's latest offering is
much better than anything Maiden has released in the past decade. Oh
well, maybe I can hope for a future reunion of the true Iron Maiden.

Thank you so much for the review! The band sends their hello's!

By the way, in case you may want to make the correction. The drummer that
actually played the tracks on the album was JoJo Fastrich who is no longer
with the band. In the listing of the players perhaps you may want to list the
current drummer Matt Miller. Steve payne was a temporary drummer that the band
really thought was going to work out but alas did not. Matt seems to be the
man and RMG has taken the step to signing him to the recording contracts, so
it must be permanent!

Thanks again for the review and we'll keep you informed with news and
releases...a little bit of news is that RMG is coordinating with Noise records
to release the records in Europe through a licensing deal. The band is also
planning their European tour for this summer. We'll let you know when we have
the dates and the licensing deal is confirmed by our army of lawyers!

Best regards,
Pam (RMG)

Here's a snippet from a review that Neil St. Laurent posted recently:

>has ever done. With the departure of Swano the music has taken a turn back to
>the past, and with the departure of Axelson, a turn for the worse.

I was under the impression for the longest time is that "Dread" IS Axelson. You
would also see the fellow listed on the _Purgatory Afterglow_ album, if my
memory recollects.

Just thought I'd point it out.

Jason,
Thanks for the brilliant review of "Ink Complete". As soon as I started
reading your review, I knew you were going to say that the best song on
the CD is "To Counter". A child in kindergarten could tap to that song.
Maybe when you learn more about progressive music, you'll understand and
appreciate the other songs.

P.S. Your critique about the sound quality is valid, since it was
recorded on a 4 track.
