Dissolution Farenheit is a collection of songs from a variety of artists that all hinge loosely on the concept of dark music. Weltschmerz is almost an easy listening form of the genre, or just easy listening in the popular sense, complete with ambient vocals and sombre approaches. Amon is part of the quintessential group of dark artists, nothing but sombre quiet ambient sound. Colloquio is likely one of the more approachable sounds; using a variety of instruments it forms more of a natural soundscape with a few vocals layered overtop -- very relaxing. Northgate continues this trend with dark natural sound, but there is nothing soothing about it as it tries to create a frightening sound over anything else. The Dead Relatives is a group that doesn't belong on this CD and is totally unrelated from the genre. Pavor Nocturnus, whose name partially describes the music, present an electronic nighttime sound. And to finish up this compilation is Canaan, another journey into the foray of the lifeless ambient darkness.
Dissolution Farenheit is a good all around compilation that introduces many of the different forms of dark music.

The Absolute Supper is one of the best compilations you will ever come across. Cold Meat Industry is one of the foremost purveyors of dark music, ranging from the classical styles of Ildfrost to the brutal death industrial style of label creator, Roger Karmanik's Brighter Death Now. The bands appearing on this two disc collection aren't exclusively Cold Meat artists, but some originate elsewhere within the spectrum of underground providers. This compilation comes with an insert with a short history and discography of each of the artists, a valuable set of information for those looking to find even more of these kinds of music.
If there was to be only a single recommendation for getting into dark music it would have to be The Last Supper, from Cold Meat Industry.
