Plan E is a band that really amazed me a few issues back with their previous releases. Jani Lehtosaari was able to look into the heavy and hard music scene and pull something out that is definitely not metal related. Continuing the ensemble of spacey atmosphere and melody I wouldn't quite hesitate to call "E Spelled Backwards" astral lounge music.

If you've never heard Plan E before, then you'll quickly discover the notable absense of any guitars; the stringed instrument at work here is a combination of clean and distorted bass. The solid bass melodies and rhythms give the music a unique sound. I'd like to say the music is eloquent, as it seems as though it is trying to speak to you at times -- very emotional. That emotion is assisted out by some ambient keyboard sounds that round out the quasi-atmospheric feel of this album.

It's not often that you hear a truly great vocalist nowadays; with more than just his ability on bass, Jani is able to produce soft and deep flowing vocals in close to perfect harmony with the music.

If you're into extreme music, this may not be for you. If you're looking to fill out the softer side of your collection then Plan E should be right near the top of your wish list.
