Click. is a Chicago band that plays a variety of heavy styles. This is generally guitar driven music, but there is also an emphasis placed on the vocals, which range from some clean singing, to some deeper vocals, to a really annoying squawking sound. The guitars never actually diverge too far from fairly standard metal riffing, and the intensity is fairly constant at the low end of things. It's somewhat difficult to hear some of their abilities live. Every time it seems like they may be doing something interesting or different the drums or vocals sort of gain control of the sound. You're often left hearing very classic hard rock sounding melodies and solos.
Although the vocalist is obviously going for a very energetic live show, the rest of the band doesn't seem to share his goal. The end result is that the music sort of sounds somewhat flat and uninspired.
Click. could be a more intersting band if they resolved precisely what they are going to do. It's not that they should write using a formula, but at times this tape seems more of a tape of cover songs than original work.
