"Amusing The Amazing" opens with an unusual, yet strangely satisfying, riff on "The Prizefighter". You may wish to describe this EP as unusual in it's entirety. Some combination of hard rock and classic rock, a stlye also noticeable in some Cathedral and the newer Celestial Season. This would continue the odd musical styles that John Garcia had also explored as vocalist of the now defunct Kyuss. John has a very important role, as the vocals add that extra dimension that helps distinguish this from being just another rock/alternative album. The guitars continue to please with an array of uncommon-to-metal riffs, while the drums and bass provide a quite simplistic background. The music is simple by design.
Slo Burn have a fairly decent production quality on this EP and overall it's a good listen. While not for the extremists, Slo Burn is definitely worth checking out.
Slo Burn is:
John Garcia - Vocals
Brady Houghton - Drums
Chris Hale - Guitars
Damon Garrison - Bass
